Let me preface this by saying, I do not want to lose Miles. However, I (along with everyone else) do feel like there should be some staff changes on the offensive side of the ball. I am not by any means advocating this, I would just like to know others thoughts...

With all the coaching changes that have occurred this season, how would you feel about promoting Chavis to Interim HC, with the understanding that we would make a hire after next season. Unless, we have a spectacular season and decide to make his head coaching title permanent? Obviously, this would effect recruiting to a degree, but it will this year anyway(if Miles leaves).

i dont hate it at all. its a tough sell on recruiting, but if we dont have the right guy this year, wait till the carousel starts next year. better to get it right a bit late, than to pick the wrong guy and set the program back 3 years- see: michigan.

And let me guess...you are one in the "Gruden" boat?

Who would you suggest that would be interested in jumping ships right now?

You typed all of that out and you don't know why that's a dumb idea?

I just dont understand why everyone thinks that we could just go out there and get ANY coach we want.

I would certainly rather this scenario, than to make a quick hire, and get fricked in the long run

And how do you think recruiting will go with players being recruited by a staff that likely won't be there next season?

If he leaves at this point, we will lose a lot of recruits this year, I think. So, it would already effect us?

So you want to kill 2 classes in a row?

its not a great situation, but better have 1 year lapse than to be where michigan is right now with a bad hire and an offense full of personnel they dont want anymore

Not so sure that we would kill 2 in a row- we make a hire in November, that leaves us more time than what we would have if he left now.

That's too late in the game for most kids who have built relationships with staffs for 2+ years

How old are you?

This is most definitely not the dumbest shite that some post on this site. If you don't care to look at something, don't click on the topic.

And no, I am not in the Gruden boat. I feel that there are a lot of delusional people on here to think that we could get a top notch coach this year. LSU is not quite the DREAM job that everyone makes it out to be. We will settle for a second-tier coach if Miles leaves. Book it

Don't agree. We pay our coaches well, and have a large talent pool to pick from. We also appear to be loyal. If a coach is fired after having Miles record, then you may have a point. If he leaves for another job, LSU is a very attractive job opening. Not saying you get the best coach this year mind you, but the job is attractive.
