Charlie has made statements to that effect in the past - that his white wife has cost him head coaching jobs. I don't always agree with SFP, but don't shoot the messenger on this one.
ETA - It has been suggested that the same issue (white wife) was a factor in Auburn's not hiring Turner Gill (and thank goodness for that, huh?)

I first found out about it middle of november but couldn't confirm it. Nov 26th was when I started to believe it but wasn't 100% sure but felt pretty confident about it.Earlier today I was 100% sure but didn't want to post it just incase. Which is why I wanted to tell you before it broke. That way you could vouch for me.
