Charlie is in Tampa today. Will interview with USF.

Sources of 247Sports.com tell us that Strong is currently debating the head coach vs defensive coordinator path after Texas. He still wants to coach, but a source said he's not sure if he wants everything that comes with being a head coach after what he went through at Texas right now. We can confirm through a different source that should Strong not take the USF head coaching job, two other schools outside of Oregon have offered him a job as defensive coordinator.

That would obviously be a home run hire. Taggart's stock has risen astronomically since he's gotten the job.

Oregon was already getting a couple per year. With Taggart, maybe that's a few more. With Strong, maybe a few more than that. Key contributors last year for Oregon were Tony Brooks-James (Gainesville) and Charles Nelson (Daytona Beach). Tony Dungy's son Eric was at Oregon a couple years ago too.

I just wonder, rumors of OSU assistants taking HC jobs and Strong saying he doesn't want all the pressure again maybe...think he reunites with Urban for a year or two?

I have my doubts. If Charlie couldn't get the Florida studs to go to Austin while would I think he and Taggart can get them to go to Oregon? I know Charlie had Clint Hurtt on his staff at Louisville and he brought a lot of those Florida kids to Louisville. But, the NCAA hemmed Hurtt up and he couldn't join Charlie at UT.
