Character AND Content - Selection of an OC

It goes without saying that the merits of a high character OC should be at the top of the list of considerations for Miles.
It goes without saying that the merits of content and coaching success/resume/ability should be at the top of the list of considerations for Miles.
It goes without saying that the merits of rapport and cultural fit should be at the top of the list of considerations for Miles.
You get the point.
The bigger picture is why can't we get it all?
LSU is the most visible and high-caliber OC opening in all of CFB right now, and everyone knows it.
With Miles main Programmatic issues (aside from QB and Oline recruiting/retention issuesa)being 1) hiring the wrong Co-DC's, 2) Hiring the wrong OC (Crowton), the last place Miles should be taking a risk is in hiring an OC.
This is not the time to be a river boat gambler and to ignore facts.
We can have it all. We really can have it all.
I hope Miles makes a splash and finds an OC who has it all. I think he will.

Here are 2 factors that you are not considering:
1. This is not a hands off situation like Charlie Weis has in Florida. The new OC has to work closely with Miles on the offense. Some coaches want autonomy.
2. The entire offensive staff is already in place. The OC candidate has to be comfortable with what's already here to help him coach. He has got to be satisfied with the staff.

How do you know there won't be changes in o-staff once a new OC is hired? It's still January.

Ok, no arguments that Les wants his hands in the mix (unfortunately, and unlike on defense. I know he was an olineman, whatev)

Ok. We all get new bossed in life, so they'll deal with it.
