LSU is a SEC CG, and THUS a BCS CG, contender for the foreseeable future.

Solid upgrades at every coaching change. I just hope Lane is kept on in a different capacity for his recruiting ability. This would appear to be a very good coaching unit that will be no-nonsense and teach fundamentals at each position. Basically, with the Haley hire, it's about as good as you could hope for.

Well, Chavis is officially the DC.

His resume is linked here.

LINK

Most think he is an upper ecelon DC that will likely be successful long term at LSU. It is assumed he will handle LB duties as well. Most recently he seemed to only recruit defensive blue chips at Yennessee. He is rumored to be on the recruiting trail at this moment.

It is rumored (reported in Chicago Papers and he as been seen in athletic building today) that Brick Haley will come from DL coach of the Chcago Bears to DL coach of the LSU Tigers. His bio is posted on the stickied post at top of this board. Most seem to think he will bring agression and coaching accumen but his recruiting seems to be a question.

It is also rumored that Ron Cooper, DB coach from South Carolina, will transfer to a simlar role at LSU (see stickied thread also). He has recently recruited well and coached several excellent CB's who have gone on to NFL. Paople feel confident he is good coach and recruiter.

That is all for now, Orange Bowl....Feel free to correct any misstatements.
