I dont think the guy is listening....

We have ALWAYS paid in the mid range, and our AD said on national TV the other day that those days are over.

I am sure they dont expect to get a 5M HC with a 50K OC/DC /sheesh

I hear ya.

We had the same problem. Mark Emmert and Nick Saban helped change that attitude around here. Once the conferences got that large TV revenue, the game had changed from a business stand point. For better or worse, you have to seriously invest in the program, or you'll be left behind.

Is there really friction with the "academic" side? Who leads this? Do department heads get involved with what goes on in sports?

It just seems to me that alot of folk associated with Michigan have always had an attitude that there is a line Michigan won't cross or a level that Michigan won't stoop to for success in athletics, regardless of what folk in academia think. That there is an integrity that won't be compromised. I think it has something to do with the Big 10 overall and that region. I don't think folk up there are as insane as SEC fans.
