James Madison football became relevant because of him, great football mind.
Chesney has consistently demonstrated the ability to rebuild programs and achieve success at every level.

Curt will end up staying at Indiana , he’s currently on a nice contract but he would be a good choice if LSU was to reach out IMO.

No I’m saying Cignetti is the reason JMU is relevant.

52-9 in his 5 years there & successfully transitioned them to FBS/SBC

JMU has been relevant for a decade when they got gameday in 2015 (i went to jmu)

Mike houston was 37-6 and left for ECU.
Cignetti was 52-9
Bob Chesney is 12-5
JMU certainly isn’t relevant because of him.

Hes a front runner for the vt job

He’s sustained what Houston started and Cignetti ramped up. Do you people just talk out of your asses intentionally?

Not really. This is their 4th year as an FBS school in the Sun Belt. They won their division in their first two seasons under Cignetti, and in year two, they won the Sunbelt conference. They dropped off dramatically under Chesney last season. They look to be back on top this season.

As an FCS school, they made the playoffs 18 times in 45 years, 13 of those in their last 18, including 2 championships and playing in the championship game another 2 times, plus another 3 semifinals. They made the playoffs in their last 8 seasons in the FCS.
