Former Kansas State coach Bill Snyder will return to coach the program and will be introduced at a news conference on Monday, sources said Sunday.
Snyder will return to the Wildcats after three years away. Snyder, who is 69 years old, compiled a 136-68-1 record at Kansas State from 1989-2005. He replaces Ron Prince, who finished with a 5-7 record this season and 17-20 overall in three seasons with the Wildcats.
A news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. CT on Monday.
A source indicated to The Wichita (Kan.) Eagle that Snyder would be given a five-year contract worth $1.8 million per season.

Nice. I hate seeing K-State being down. Now the Big 12 North will get better. It'll be a battle between Mizzou, Nebraska and K-State. KU is finished, their glory days are over.

Bringing back an elderly former legend to coach your team and hoping for the same results typically does not end well.
See: Johnny Majors, Pittsburgh
I doubt K-State is going anywhere significant with this re-hire.

Look for Bill to get 4 division II teams on the schedule in the same season.
5 if you count Texas A&M.

Ouch. Seriously, though, this probably won't work well unless they just want to get back to bowl games with 6-6, 7-5 records. His age will be a factor.

McNeese and SLU will be there in 2009 followed by La College and Delta State in 2010

Didn't he and Pelini almost have an altercation of sorts after a game when Pelini was at OU? Interesting now that they're going to have to attend the coaches' conferences together.
