Another reason why Stoops is an attractive candidate

His brother Mike is on shaky ground as the head coach at Arizona. If they let him go he would join Bob again most likely. As a DC he is easily one of the best out there. Hiring Bob could be a good get 2 for 1 at this point.

No he's not.

Do you even follow the Pac 10 or know what goes out there? He had Arizona playing for a chance to play in The Rose Bowl as soon as two weeks ago.

Two weeks ago LSU was in the national title hunt and some consider Miles on shaky ground, so I agree that Stoops is at AZ.

Then he lost to Cal and Oregon back to back and is now 6-4 with USC left to play.

He was on the hot seat last year also. It would not be a surprise if he was let go at the end of this season if he loses to USC next week and finishes 6-5.

Guess you forgot they beat Arizona State yesterday and at worst, they'll finish 7-5. Plus, he also got that program back to a bowl last year after not going for many years before that, and then got an extension after last season. He's safe for the time being.

They may finish 6-6 if he loses his bowl game. He is not safe in Arizona by any means. They probably won't win at USC.

They're already 7-4. If they lose to USC and lose their bowl, they still have a winning record, something Arizona hasn't had in back to back seasons in a while.

are you not counting a 1AA win or something?

Plus two of his wins this year are against Oregon State and Stanford, and he lost to Washington and Oregon, who both beat USC by a combined 6 points. He's got a shot at beating USC as well.

Don't think so. They are better off now than they have been in years. They were 8-5 last year, want to guess the last time they were 8-5?
You should never fire a coach unless you have one as good or better to replace.

He is on shaky ground regardless and could end up with Bob at ND in the near future which makes Bob an even more attractive hire IMO. His brother is not a good HC but he is a great DC with a very intense personality.

Might be the only person saying hes on shaky ground is you?
I'd still like to see how he finishes out this season.

Many fans in Arizona were mixed on whether he should of been retained last year even though they won a bowl game. That narrow ASU victory may have saved him but if he tanks against USC and the bowl game you never know.
