If Saban leaves 4Mil and no buyout to go somewhere else for 3Mil and a 10Mil buyout, I bet it'd make a LOT of coaches think twice about taking any amount of money from Bama.

Yeah, Saban would agree to a $10 mil buyout.

True, but it is pretty well documented that Saban regrets his decision to leave LSU in the first place, and many will understand the pull that LSU has on him...

Do you think some Bama administrators (and fans) would be happy if he left knowing that they wouldn't have to pay $4 million for a coach who might not be able to do for them what he did for LSU?

Chicken, and I didn't include this in my thread about COULD and HOW, but we would be bailing Bama out of a hugely expensive mistake. The irony is, if the unthinkable were to happen, it could benefit Bama in that they could end up with a better, less expensive coach in the process.

I thought about mentioning Schiano, he fell between the mega-coaches and the up and comers.

Considering that Rutgers lost its entire starting defense and offensive line from last season, I'd say he did a damned good job with the team he had this year.

Mike Teel (RU QB) is just brutal to watch. He's like Kerry Collins or Aaron Brooks - he'll just throw it to an open player, regardless of what jersey he's wearing.

That being said, it really doesn't matter. Schiano is at Rutgers until the Penn State job becomes available, and then he's at PSU for the next 10 - 20 years of his life.

When it comes to building a program, I'm not sure there are too many guys who are better then Nick Saban.

Nobody knows how well Saban sustains a program, though, because he's never stuck around long enough to see it.

It's integral to the story. If that's not true, there's not a chance in hell of him coming here.

I think they would get one from the pro ranks. They are the only ones who could deal with Malfunction Moore and the SEC.

I would expect Moore to be history if Saban leaves...

You think? I think it'd be just the opposite. Any pro coach worth a damn would put up with it for, oh maybe, a year? They need to find another Shula and just suck it up that they suck now.

Agreed. It would certainly be a struggle for him to survive.
