Why the frick would Stoops go to Notre Dame? Would the extra few hundred thousands a year really be worth going 9-3 every damn year? They are not an elite program anymore and why people insist that they are is beyond me.

There is nothing wrong with ND that a good coach won't fix.
They also play a joke schedule.

A good coach can make any and every program 8-4/9-3 every year, but when you've played in what? 6? 7? BCS games this decade, you don't want to go to a school that's played in what? 1? 2? and got stomped in both of them.

He's the reason OU went to 6 BCS games, Oklahoma was in worse shape when he took over there than ND is in now.

Stoops does NOT strike me as an elite coach. He seems to struggle with the same things that ND has struggled with in recent years.
Has Notre Dame's recent problems been getting to the National Championship game like Oklahoma has done in 2000, 2003, and 2007? They even won one.

Stoops is an Elite coach and unlike many fans here who said he would never leave OU WHEN IVE BEEN POSTING THE TIME MIGHT BE RIGHT THIS YEAR OR NEXT FOR HIM TO MAKE A CHANGE. Glad ND had the balls to go after a proven coach instead of taking a chance on the next hot name from a lower tier school that may or may not workout.

Stoops would have to get some of the requirement restrictions lifted to get better players.
