LSU ran the ball about 4:1 or 5:1 in the Cotton Bowl. Worked out aight...

any thoughts on Kenny Edenfield, Troy's OC? just curious, 'cause Guilbeau had him listed this morning in an article (along w/the usual suspects).

this was his first yr. at Troy (as an OC) he's 45, his offense finished no. 7 in total offense (453 yds./game).

11th in passing offense (297 yds), 29th in scoring (34 pts).

As for as reality goes, I see Logan and Monken as the frontrunners.

Hearing around Fayetteville LSU-Paul Petrino might have mutual interest.

That'd be a pretty fantastic hire.

Major Applewhite or Terry Bowden were names that were on this list.

Dan you need to put the Smart football link in your sig or sticky it on the rant. Every time I see someone confuse the Spread with the Spread Option it drives me crazy. They think just because a coach may run some spread formations he must want a running QB.

Fuente is in a good spot. He's a hot coordinator for a 13-0 team that will soon rule the Big East. but if offered a substantial raise, and the rescue mission to arouse a sleeping-giant LSU offense that's been under the national microscope, he might just want to come aboard for some real fun.

It really is said how people speak so forthrightly about it when they don't know...

I think Leach's style would also translate well at LSU

+ 1 Million

His offense already worked before in the SEC at Kentucky with a bunch of left overs, just imagine what he could do at LSU with some the most elite athletes in America. The results would be staggering.

Check out Blake Anderson. I posted this about him a while back:

12. Blake Anderson, OC and QBs Coach Southern Miss
Somewhat of a darkhorse, but I really like this guy. He has led So. Miss to some very successful offensive seasons the last three years. This year, they are ranked #15 in total offense (that's between #14 Stanford and #16 Texas Tech, to give you perspective). He was also QBs Coach and OC for UL-Lafayette in 2007, when they set a bunch of Sun Belt offensive records. Was Co-OC for Middle Tennessee before that, and led the Sun Belt in scoring offense during his time there.

Do you really think Leach would come in as an offensive coordinator? I think he can and will get a head coaching job really soon. Stranger things have happened I guess.

I know Les really wanted to win the Cotton Bowl, but I really wish he wouldve made the OC change earlier so the new OC could use the bowl practices.

I just can't see Les bringing in an established big name unless its Cam Cameron. I see him hiring an up and comer that he can control similar to the situation at okie state with Mike Gundy.

Leach and Miles could never work together. Yes Leach is a genius but consider: Miles is goofy, Leach is just weird. We don't need THAT combination.
