I am purely speculating....

Chavis in as DC.

Peveto reverts back to LB/ST Coord // Robinson Out

ETA: Peveto "leaves for NSU"//Robinson retained as ST Coord and helps O with the DL

Mallory reverts back to DB

Orgeron in as DL/ and either Recruiting Coordinator, or Co-RC with Henson (And possibly an assistant/associate HC title) // Lane Out

Although I really want Peveto gone, I would be very open to giving this combination a chance (and I really am not excited about Orgeron, either).

ETA: It is possible that Chavis will bring his entire defensive staff over.

Why does everyone want Robinson out? Our kick and punt coverage have been way better than when under BDP. The only thing worse or not better is punting distance because our punter is worse...Joe can't help that. He is a solid coach and I don't understand why people want him gone, it just doesn't makes sense.

And I'm not advocating that particular move. I'm just seeing Miles making a "do over". Had he hired a DC last year (for example Tenuta), Robinson wouldn't have been hired at all. But, assuming the smoke from the Orgeron stories have some fire, the DL coaches are in trouble, and the only way BDP can stay on staff is to take the ST gig again. He will likely share the LB duties with Chavis under my scenario (which, again, is pure speculation).

Zero would definitely be a HUGE get for DL and recruiting. He'll give Lord Saban fits.

Why not high on Coach O for DL and recruiting cooridnator?

Seems like a great hire IMO..with Chavis

Vol Nation loves Chevis, they believe he is ready for a HC job...basically gives us 2 HC type guys on that side of the ball

Would it be a step up for O to go from NFL DL coach to College DL coach/Recruiting Coordinator.

Because I just don't like the guy. I recognize that he has had some success at USC, and is an elite recruiter, and all of that. But I just don't like him. He also is a little shady when it comes to recruiting (at least as shady as Bama's head coach).

I think it would be great to have Orgeron as DC. The defense needs to play fired up and not look so lifeless.

I'm not too high on keeping the former D-cood. on the new staff. There may be conflicts between the new cood and old. I would feel better if the new cood brought the guys with him that he thinks will best work him.

If Peveto gets the Northwestern job, certainly he might take Mallory and Lane. The rumors are heating up that no defensive coach will be retained, so that does quash my "Peace with Honor" scenario for Miles.

Better than what we have, but I would be disappointed. He plays a soft defense and his defenses have not done that well except for when their record stinks and other teams play keep away with the ball or when he has Albert Haynesworth, John Henderson, Al Wilson, Leonard Little and Deon Grant on his team with Jamal Lewis and Travis Henry running the ball.
