Yes. You butthurt about it?

if i were him, i'd go.
let's switch it up a bit.
say you were at Michigan, but you were an LSU alum. You had to make a choice, play in the conference championship game and possibly in the national championship game (at Michigan, the school you're coaching at) or go home to coach at a rebuilding LSU...
I would have stayed too.
now, there's no conference championship nor national championship on the line. you're hated by half the fanbase despite being the winningest coach in the school's history. You already won a national championship... and your dream job becomes available AGAIN.
you can't pass that up.
I'd go...

- He is currently running a year-in year-out top 10 program for the most part And yet half the people on this board (which is probably a solid cross section of the fan base) wanted him replaced
- He is in a conference that in a few days might win its 5th BCS title in a row. A great reason to leave... Its insanely competitive and only One team is represented in the NCG
- He is in a hotbed of recruiting talent that he has shown he can pull from well. This is true but LSU also has to compete in the dirty dirty SEC... It makes for great intrigue and fun for us but it doesn't make for restfilled nights!
- He has no other in state rival AND??? its the SEC that means very little
- He is getting paid top dollar The offer is unknown and your talkiing a 20 to 25% potential pay cut to go home and be near family at your alma mater
- His kids are in high school right now and his family is happy here Legitimate

I hope he leaves. No matter what he did he could never get genuine love from the LSU fan base. I didnot like the hire but have found myself sticking up for him because I hear so much crap about how bad he is or how stupid he is.
When all is said and done....The LSU fan base will realize what a loss this was.
I hope Les gets his dream job and does well. I pray we get a coach who can match the Wins and championships Les has given LSU.

Wow! That didn't take long. I hope he stays but with fans like this I sure wouldn't blame Miles for leaving.

10-8 make sense from a coaches chances at success standpoint. Although he has done pretty damn well in the SEC.
7-4 also make a lot of sense. A lot of people just don't realize what Coach Miles has done in 6 years. Avgeraging 10 wins a year, an SEC Championship, & a National Championship, top 5 recruiting classes (I know the qb situation & crowton's lack of offensive progress might put a damper on this one) is nothing to laugh at in the SEC, the SECW for that matter.
3-1 Is something that money or conference or whatever can't deny. You can't blame the guy for "going home". Think about it from a reverse standpoint, if you were in the coaching business-as a rabid LSU fan/ex-player-wouldn't you drop everything for a chance to go back? He passed up the chance in 07' because he was committed to LSU & was in the midst of a NC season, that was the right thing to do. Today, the future is bright at LSU but without the "do the right thing" factor this time around, I think we can't blame him IF he chooses to make the move & give um a shot. I don't want him to leave but I would have to do the right thing & try to understand it IF he does.
G E A U X T I G E R S!!!
You said it better than I

Agree to disagree on that one

Right. One team every single year the past 5 years has been there. Also meaning that if you win the SEC you are going to get the nod over other non-SEC teams with similar records.

And we still get top 5 classes

AND??? its the SEC that means very little
Meaning we get a vast majority of who we want from LA

That's a lot of money

agree to disagree on many of those...
Maybe, I fear the Monkey judo Chop...
The money is NOT a deciding factor... So they pay me 1 million dollars more this year, and then fire me next year... I will likely be signing a 5 year multi million dollar contract in Michigan!

10 reasons why Miles is GONE!
10) SEC Level of competition compared to the Big 10, beat Tressel (which he has done) and compete for a National championship every couple of years.
9) SEC level of recruiting compared to the big 10 ( Head to head with the best coachs in the nation)
8) Big 10 style of play is Les Miles Style of Play...
7) LSU fans lack of Respect and appreciation, 3 yrs removed from a National Championship
6) LARGE % LSU fans are ungrateful short memoried spoiled brats
5) LSU fans lack of Respect, Midway through an UNDEFEATED season
4) LSU fans lack of respect and appreciation after a 10-2 season!
3)It is his self proclaimed Dream Job
2) It is home
1) HE did the "RIGHT" thing during the 07 Championship run and passed on the "dream Job"
He was loyal and unselfish and put the team 1st! Yet that same loyalty has NOT been returned by the LSU fan base and in fact threats/rumors of his firing are alive and well. This is his only chance of the Michigan job and he passed on it once ...He is not going to do it again. He will do the right thing and play the game tonight and accept the job over the weekend!!
DONE DEAL!
Michigan would be making waves looking for a coach yet pretty quiet. They all know les is putting the team first and denying in the proper manner yet when the time comes he accepts and moves on in the most classy way POSSIBLE!
Loyalty not recipricated is stupidity and contrary to popular opinions LES is not stupid and his move to Michigan will prove it!
All I got was, "LSU fans don't love Les so he's leaving..." You are gay.

10 reasons why Miles should be GONE!
10. Consistently misuses talent that is given to him or is unable to coach them up
9. Embarrasses the University routinely on TV
8. Inability to show up on time, even for an interview
7. Has defined the term "poor clock management" in sports (see #8)
6. Has melted down 3 or 4 back ends of games or halfs which resulted in barely winning a game, or losing it
5. Thinks "winning by a field goal" or going into overtime is good enough
4. Does not know how to put away lesser opponents with superior talent (see #7)
3. Keeps shitty coordinators around too long
2. Has fielded at least the 100th worst offense in the NCAA 2 years running but doesn't see a problem (see #3)
1. Can't develop, recruit, or keep a SEC caliber QB
I could list more but I won't.

8. Inability to show up on time, even for an interview huh?
7. Has defined the term "poor clock management" in sports (see #8) Finally!
6. Has melted down 3 or 4 back ends of games or halfs which resulted in barely winning a game, or losing it and still averages 10 wins a season
5. Thinks "winning by a field goal" or going into overtime is good enough Newsflash winning by a field goal is a win!
4. Does not know how to put away lesser opponents with superior talent (see #7) Really? Really? 3. Keeps shitty coordinators around too long
2. Has fielded at least the 100th worst offense in the NCAA 2 years running but doesn't see a problem Same as #3
1. Can't develop, recruit, or keep a SEC caliber QB in two years?? Mettenberger? I could list more but I won't.
Who is your replacement? Vince Lombardi? Maybe John Walsh or John Gruden?

Apart from some embarrassing clock mismanagement moments, I would say your number 3 is probably the largest source of angst amongst Tiger fans.
It is still baffling that Crowton has a job at LSU considering the 10,000 mostly accurate complaints about the guy listed in these threads.
A top 50, methodical offense would wipe out most "close calls" like the UNC and TN game, helps us beat ARK, and may have been enough to beat AU.
