thought that this board might be the only one on this site that was safe from conservatives melting about the liberals. It was worth a shot
When politics has been shoved down our throats in every single aspect of our lives, you shouldn't be surprised when it surfaces in places you didn't expect.
I'll let you figure out how that came about.

One is written by a communist, who literally fought against fascism is the Spanish Civil War, and depicts a police state evolved from an imperial capitalist society.
This statement doesn't really hold any water, outside of "literally fought against fascism in the SCW" - that part is true. Orwell never really considered himself a communist - he considered communists allies against fascism in Spain. He ultimately grew to distrust them as much as he did Nazis and Fascists.
Animal Farm is literally an allegory warning about Bolshevism, specifically (and somewhat more broadly, Stalinism that followed). 1984 is literally a speculative look at what 1940s Britain might be like under Stalin. Both works are staunchly anti-Communist.

Why does Orwell call the government in 1984 EngSoc short for English Socialism?
Why didn’t he call it EngCap?
I don’t know how I could justify interpreting that book as a criticism of capitalism. That must be an impressive feat.

Yeah. . .I forgot about this thread.
Anyone who could read, and had access to 1984 or Animal Farm can allege that Orwell is a communist. . .Either they are agenda-driven to ignore his words, or just ignorant.
He was a democratic socialist of the FDR variety. A New Deal Progressive.
He would be a center-left liberal Democrat in today's world, accounting for his rampant homophobia and faith in Federalist systems. He would be to the right of Bernie and AOC. . .by a little

And everything I said was 100% correct, whether you like it or not.
