Just finished this recently...for those of you that have read it...I found it incredibly boring. Supposedly one of the best novels of the 21st century...what the hell did I miss?

Yeah, I was not a big fan either.

There are a few modern authors that critics are in love with that I just don’t think are that great.
Chabon is one of them.
I’ve read a couple of his books expecting to be blown away and they were just meh

Yeah, I'd agree with you. It was well written, but I found it pretty average overall. It wasn't a book I burned through.

I spent more time thumbing through the dictionary than I did the pages of the book. I was hoping someone could explain to me why everyone has such a hard on for this book. Christmas gift wasted

Different strokes I guess. I loved it. Very well thought out characters, intersting story arcs, well written. It kept me interested from start to finish.
