I’ve always thought Conroy was similar to John Irving, who I think is better than Conroy. Irving’s best are, “ A Prayer for Owen Meany”, “The Cider House Rules” and “The World According to Garp”. He got strange in the late 90’s and I just couldn’t read him anymore.
