I'm pretty much at the end of my list of things I wanted to read this year. I think I'm going to start Suneater next. My library has most of them in audible format so I can listen while driving.

Any other recommendations to hold me over until Wind and Truth comes out?

dont skip the Novellas they are all connected to story

Anyone read any of the Gunmetal Gods books? I finished the first one and am about halfway through the second.

I really like the world. But there’s just something off about the writing. Really strange character development and randomness in the plot. Narrative POV also isn’t great with the various narrators seeming really inconsistent in their thinking and actions. Curious if anyone else struggled with the series.

Damn, I missed this. I'm on Demon in White now and haven't read the novellas.

I had the same issue with that series. I really liked the first book, but the second and third were kinda so so to me because of what you mentioned. And I feel like that aspect just got worse as it went on. Probably won't read the next book in that series because of it.

I heavily invested in kick starter for gunmetal gods... I haven't read it yet. Yeah I know the book looks incredible though

Jeff Hays has to be one of the best narrators of all time. The Dungeon Crawler Carl series is awesome.

Anthony Ryan just came out with a new series, with a first book. I loved his last series.

Hell. Yes. The last series was really good. And he is always one of my favorites.

It really was. Covenant of Steel really flew way under the radar but it was exceptionally good

Neuromancer. It has probably been discussed on here already, but I read that book last year and holy shite is it good. Yes, some of it is dated, but it is still a highly original book which gave us the cyberpunk genre that continues to influence our culture to this day.

Man I loved the first Covenant of steel but it fell wayyyy off towards the end. Just my opinion at least. Loved the first book so kept reading til the end of it.

Sun eater is a great series to pick up on audible. I'm up to date and very much waiting on the next one.

As other mentioned though, it has Novellas that are linked to the story, but I havnt gotten to those yet.

Another recommendation I cannot praise enough is the Red Rising series. Thats my favorite new series and one of my top 5. Audio version is astounding

I'm almost at the end of Demon in White and starting to get fatigued the way I did with the Stormlight Archives and Sanderson in general. I'm almost screaming at Marlowe to just blow the freakin' sun up already.

Ohhh buddy that ll say that you need to be patient. He’s got WAY more character .. development.. to go up to the most recent book. Especially before we get to the events that label him ‘Suneater’ in future books.

If it’s not for you I understand. But if you at least think it’s a good series I recommend you push on. It gets dark soon. Like, really damned dark at one point

Oh I'm enjoying it, will definitely finish. 30 hour audiobooks get to be a chore sometimes, though. I'm chewing through each one in about a week while at work. I just finished Demon in White about 10 minutes ago. I might listen to a few of the Murderbot books before I start the next to take a break.

Started to read books at night before bed, in the past I enjoyed BNW and Martian Chronicles but I’m a couple chapters into Ender’s Game since I bought the series for my son since it was a requirement for one of his classes.

Is it a decent series?

First book is a fantastic sci Fi novel, rest of the first set of books is mediocre.
