I know we've got a couple folks on here who were big Red Rising fans, and so I imagine everyone is anxiously awaiting the newest book on January 16th.

What're folks thinking about maybe an in-game reread thread and maybe discussion on the fourth one? I just decided to reread so Idk if I'll be able to knock them all out before the 16th, but I'll finish very shortly after.

I forgot how good this series was. It's awesome in a reread, and I very rarely reread books.

So pumped for the next one !

I have about an hour left in Artemis then I plan on re-listening to them before Iron Gold.

So I'm down.

I’m almost done with first read of second book. Y’all want to skip straight to the third for me?

Note to sidetrack, but how is Artemis? I’m #256 on the hold list at my local library

I've enjoyed the series and I will definitely read the new book, but I don't feel any desire to re-read the one's I've read.

I had the same thought. I am looking forward to Iron Gold coming out, but I don't think I would get a lot out of rereading the first 3 books. They were very entertaining, but I'm not sure there is a lot I missed on the first read.

I wouldn't say it's a book with the most extreme detail and backstories that makes a reread worth it, BUT I feel like I'm really enjoying it.

I forgot how awesome and well-rounded the side characters are. I also didn't notice Fincher's role from the very beginning. He was much more present throughout once you realize who he is.

Fitchner and Sevro were my 2 favorite characters in the first series. I'm curious to see how many faces from the rising will reappear in the new trilogy.

Agreed boyo.

I'd put Fitchner ahead (heh) of a lot of characters.

It's decent enough. I preferred The Martian however.

I like world building. So I'm always disappointed when someone creates a new world or goes into the future but the story ends up being about a character that is exposed to such a small part of it.

And that kind of happens in Artemis.

I haven’t read the book yet, but I’m pretty sure he said if this is well received there will be other books in the Artemis universe. He talked about it being his “Discworld”.

I figured he would. Artemis is interesting enough that I'd like to learn more about it.

On Mars, there's not much gravity. So you have to pull the feet to break the neck. They let the loved ones do it.

Why Eo?!? Why?!?

I reread about two weeks ago. Very rereadable. I pre-ordered - which I wish I didn't bc I could have just put a hold on it for the 16th.

Can't wait to read Iron Gold!
