Its a very very very popular book that to my knowledge has had a few threads on this board.
Yes many on here have read it.
There's a sequel coming out soon I think.

Read it and enjoyed it.
If you grew up in the 1980s it hits all the right nostalgia buttons
That said, it isn’t some world changing piece of literature and a lot of the references may be lost on younger generations.
But it was a fun quick read.

Remember hearing about the movie a while back, but honestly never knew there was a book. Just ordered a copy.

Just finished my reread of it this evening.
Very fun and enjoyable read, especially as a child of the 80s.

There's a lot of fun nostalgia in it for anyone who grew up in the 80's, and it's competently written enough to be a fun read for the most part.
However, once you get over the fun references you realize the main character is very unlikable.

I enjoyed the hell out of it, and it got me into LitRPG.

Besides the standard climate change lie they lightly sprinkle in I really enjoyed it. Way better than the movie and I like the movie. Read it over a weekend.
