Trying to find a series/book that I read years ago and popped into my head a few weeks ago.

The series was 3 books, each one about a different prison planet.
Each planet had a different theme and once they put you there, something happened to your body that would kill you if you left.

One was a corporate, business type planet, i can't remember the others.

There was some type of plot against Earth, and they sent some guy there to investigate. He lived in a ship above the planets and they would send a 'clone' down to each planet that he could control.

I remember it being an interesting read and was wanting to read it again.

Do any of you folks recognize the story line?

Thanks!

Did a quick google and wonder if these are the ones you're interested in?

Unfortunately, no not that one.

This was probably 20 years ago.

I was thinking Orson Scott Card, but I can’t seem to find anything like that in his works.

Lol, every so often, I do a google search for them, but so far have not been able to find them.

I want to say each book was named after the planet his clone was imprisoned on.

The Four Lords of the Diamond by Jack L. Chalker? This came up on Reddit and the synopsis sounded similar to what you mentioned, but it's four books in the series.

That’s it!

Thanks a million.

I have been trying to remember what the name was for years!

Lol, I hope it was as good as younger me remembers.

Thanks again!
