Comprehensive overview of the USA bombing campaign over Europe from a strategic, tactical and “daily life of an airman” perspective.

If you ever considered that you would have preferred to be a pilot or member of a bomber crew flying missions over Germany with the prospect of going home after 25 missions, as opposed to a grunt storming the beaches of Normandy and fighting your way into Germany, your opinion might change after reading this book.

I suggest Cultures of War -- a bit liberal but suggests the true reasons why we went to war with Afghanistan and especially Iraq. Read it in grad school. Enjoyed. John Dwyer is author I believe.

Great book I finished reading in January! Yeah, it was a slaughter out there. If Hitler would have devoted more resources into developing the Nazi jet planes earlier, WW2 would have played out differently.

If that is what you like, I definitely think so - not sure how much they cost but they look beautiful. The hardcover copy has a nice crimson / scarlet cover with gold lettering which i found used for a good price.

Its a 1,400 page historic war book with a 4.5 rating on goodreads so definitely is a good read for those who like military history - I'd imagine its very slow and dry for those who don't (one of my friends described it as a 1,400 page transcription of a game of risk).
