Tim Miller of Deadpool is set to direct. A Love Death and Robots writer is said to be a main writer. Both of those make a lot of sense for Joe’s style. Abercrombie supposedly/thankfully will be heavily involved. Rebecca Ferguson to play Moza (she is getting big time roles one after the other now).

I love this book and is probably my 4th favorite book of his. But I am a bit surprised this is the first one to be adapted. Maybe a studio is wanting to do this first before committing to a trilogy because it will be an expensive project.

But his world should transfer over to the screen easier than a lot of other fantasy novels.

As one of my favorite authors of all time, I’m very very pumped.

Strange that they'd start with one of the stand alone novels instead of the main series.

I wonder who'd play Caul Shivers.

I love Abercrombie's work. I just finished the first book in the Shattered Sea series, and while not as broad in scope as First Law, it was still a very enjoyable book.

Definitely. 2nd book is better than the first in that imo.

Hoping Abercrombie posts some news about the project, not just a Rebecca Ferguson retweet.

I'll probably read that one once I'm done with third Mistborn book

He's said very little about it other than some tweets:

Can't say much more, but the headlines: I wrote the script (yes, I know, but it's really good, honest), Tim Miller's down to direct, Rebecca Ferguson's down to play Monza.

Tim is the director of Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate as well as the main force behind Love, Death and Robots. We've been working to bring the First Law to the screen in one form or another for a decade now, and there is no bigger fan of, or champion for, these books.

I just finished The Blade Itself a couple of weeks ago, and am a little of the way into Before They Are Hanged now. I love it. Not so sure I want to see some of it on a TV show , but yeah.

As long as these champions don't have "their take" on it. But Joe writing the script has to be good news. I don't think GRRM actually wrote the script for Game of Thrones. Might be wrong on that.

I won't. I'll try not to. I probably will.
