Sadly, he's not your ordinary Christian.
Unapologetic has proved to be a real page turner!
Spufford first argues that this bus campaign assumes that people are already enjoying life or can easily figure out how to enjoy life, which is an excellent point. Most people are suffering. Most people are not in their prime and living it up. Very few are.
In reality, we all have one thing in common. The ability to frick things up, which is his definition of sin.
Well worth anyone's time IMO.

Yes, the first part of that book is a tour de force. I'd recommend that first chapter to anyone, Christian or not. It's incredible writing -- just brilliant. As you indicated, his unpacking of the word "sin" was amazing.
I was less impressed with the rest of the book.

Well said! Who else do you like?
Have you read any of Spufford’s fiction?

I have not. He used to write a weekly politics/culture column for a UK paper that I'd read regularly, which is what made me pick up this book when it came out.

A bit too liberal.
