Dances with Wolves is on sale today at Audible for $3.95.
Even for $4 I am reluctant because I really didn't like the movie.
But without that tainted view, it would be a book it would seem I'd like.
Anyone read it?

How on earth did you dislike the movie?

Not sure at this point. It was years ago.
I recall it being slow with the director being so impressed with his cinematography that it dragged.
And Costner is pretty blah.
I guess I should watch it again though.

Haven't read it, but my understanding is that it is pretty much the movie, except with Comanche instead of Lakota Sioux.
The Blake initially wrote it as a script, and no one in Hollywood would do anything with it. Costner (I think) told him to turn it into a book because Hollywood was more likely to adapt it from a book. So he did. It finally got published, and Costner bought the rights to it.

I read it in 2003 and I remember enjoying it even after having already seen the film. For $4 I’d say go for it.
