The problem I have with the Westeros forum is that the book readers get offended at the slightest of changes. I.e. If the dialogue isn't word for word as the book in every scene they get pissy; it becomes annoying after a while. The readers on here are way more realistic and flexible. Sure, we complain about some of the changes, but for the most part we're flexible and recognize that the show and books don't have to be 100% identical.

the scene with Oberyn telling Tyrion about the first time they met was the best change D&D did

Yep. There are quite a few changes I liked this season:
Liked: Jaime helping Tyrion, Oberyn's introduction, Sansa's political maneuvering, Bran's arc, Jojen's death, the Great Other.
Disliked: Tyrion and Jaime's parting and the fact that he didn't mention Tysha, not ending Episode 9 with Stannis, not having Lysa spill the beans when trying to kill Sansa (don't know what they were thinking with this one), no Stoneheart.
Still my favorite of the 4 seasons though

Same here...I was actually okay with every change except the no Stoneheart and no Tysha reveal. With that said seeing Shae get choked the same way was glorious.
I was definitely in favor of them killing off Jojen now rather than making him into Jojen Paste
.
I admit, I can't seem to recall if this happened in the books or not, but the introduction of Mel at the Wall and seeing Jon in the flames is one of my favorite scenes in the show so far and was done brilliantly...truly it's a scene only bookreaders can appreciate upon first watch. Lots of symbolism going on in that 20 second scene.

Yeah, that was great. Definitely one of my favorite scenes as a whole.

I can't remember did Tyrion apologize in the book after strangling her?

No idea. I really need to do a reread.

Reread it recently, and no he did not. I think Tyrion was much more pissed off and vengeful in the books to think of such compared to the show. Really, Martin didn't attempt to show the tragedy in the situation of Tyrion killing his lover and father, due to how enraged he was for being wronged from his wife and the ensuing aftermath that he was never able to recover from. The show instead decided to focus on the tragedy of the situation instead, and both the scenes are a great deal more sad in the show than they are in the books.

We can also blame it on Alex Graves too
.

To be honest I'm surprised that no one who has ties to the show has posted on TD. This thread shows up on page 1 of Google if you search "crackpot ASOIAF theories" or just "ASOIAF theories". Plus it's probably one of the longest threads on the internet about all the theories (whereas the ones on Westeros.org are separate threads and none are this long).
To someone who is not a regular on this site, this thread is a nightmare. On something like Westeros.org you can skim thread titles to find where people are talking about a certain topic. There is not easy way to skim this thread to find out when people are talking about anything in this thread other than to just read the whole thing. I have been a member of westeros.org for longer than I have been a member here and while I really like the community on this board better I can understand why people go there. It is just easier to deal with.

Well until we get a ASOIAF Board we really can't do anything about that.

having an ASOIAF board from March-June every year is necessary.
Honestly, we need two boards, a hodor and a reader.

Someone can always go back and document what is talked about where.
Don't look at me.

Did you see the Gay of Thrones parody for S4E10 with GRRM?
