So my library switched to this and it seems it's not compatible with Kindle Paperwhites Any ideas on how to work around this? Any other libraries that I could use, or do you have to be a resident in the parish of the library?

That really sucks. I'd probably be pissed enough to call and complain. Maybe go old school and write a strongly worded letter

You may be able to join another library by paying.
I had to pay to join the Georgetown library because I dont live in city limits. Mine was $35. I dont recall if that was per year or 2.

I looked into it. I think I'll just buy another device that the app supports.

It’s not great on iPhone either. Very disappointed so far compared to Libby.

You can get cards at other branches. Some free (Broward) some you will need to pay for. I'm not sure if they are still compatible with Kindle or not though.

Cloud Library is a super janky app, but it's way better about wait/hold times for books. Just wish playback and searching wasn't awful.

Where are you located? Maybe a neighboring library system still has Libby and you may possibly get a card there.

Iberia Parish. Seems you need to be a resident to get a card at most libraries. Even Broward isn't free anymore. I guess for the yaerly fee, I'll just fork over money for another e-reader

I went Kobo after Amazon started redacting/removing stuff I'd already bought. You can download a great library manager like Calibre, and populate the books you've already bought from many sources (which I can't share here.) Kobo seems to "read" almost everything, but Epub compatibility seems to be the most compatible. I always try to pay authors when I can, but when I order a used book for $3, I am pretty sure they're not getting paid.

You can also cheat the system (since everyone here loves IPTV,) just register an address with a library, as the address of the library, and it'll likely work. If libraries weren't such bitches, I wouldn't have mentioned it. But I live 300 feet from my local library I'm registered at, but I had to go in person to renew? WTF? I don't get it.
