re: Charles Dickens
My dad is who is brilliant reads Dickens all the time. I texted him when I read this and asked which one was his favorite. He said "David Copperfield". They are hard reads but man his use of the English language is astouding.

re: Charles Dickens
My personal favorite is Great Expectations.

But, I don't think you can go wrong with Oliver Twist, Nicholas Nickleby, David Copperfield or A Tale of Two Cities - he was as spot on as Twain or Fitzgerald, for my money (meaning if you like one, you'll like them all).

I remember when he made the Statue of Liberty disappear. That was awesome.

This.

All of the main ones have been recommended above. I would also add Bleak House to the list.

A Tale of Two Cities is my favorite Dickens novel - but they’re all good
