I upgraded to the Oasis on Primeday and it came in yesterday. I've had a Paperwhite for about 8 months and really liked it. I'll be sending it back for the refund though. The Oasis is really nice. The larger screen is great, it's easier to hold, and it's a lot less laggy than my Paperwhite was. I'm excited to use the "warm" feature at night so that I'm not scorching my eyeballs. With all that said, the Paperwhite is a great value and the Oasis is probably more of a luxury.

Is the paper white like the traditional kindle? I saw a friends oasis and it presented too much like a tablet screen for my liking. I enjoy the more “ink looking” presentation like the original kindles had.

All Kindles are e-ink including the Oasis and Paperwhite. The Oasis is just a bigger screen with higher resolution and has lighting that can be changed from cool to warm.

Yeah the highest setting is pretty bright compared to the older Kindles.
