Best book on the Crusades ?

Looked at a few lists on the internet and some have good reviews on the initial crusades but not much info on the latter .. anyone have a good rec on the totality of the Crusades ?

I liked The Glory of the Crusades by Steve Weidenkopf.

This is an interesting read. Quick read with an unapologetically pro-Crusader viewpoint.


Look for this lecture series at your library or buy it. It’s wonderful.

I really enjoyed Jerusalem. It's a long read, but really thorough. It avoids going too far into the religion aspect, but walks thru the creation of the city to all the battles and wars fought over it
