Balanced books on Arab-Israeli conflict?

Wondering if there are any unbiased books out there concerning the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict
Seems like an impossible task given how polarizing this is, but would be curious to get as objective of an analysis as possible

Not a book, but if you listen to podcasts check out The Martyrmade Podcast - Fear & Loathing in the New Jerusalem series.

I'm rewriting (or trying to find) this Middle East reader I promised a few years ago. I can't find the document anymore, as I forgot what I named it, but this new list will have plenty on this conflict and others.

The Sadat section of Kissinger's newest book, Leadership: Six Studies in World Strategy, may be exactly what your looking for. Obviously focused on Sadat's perspective and strategic ends, but he pulls in a lot of Israeli perspective as well from his negotiations with both sides.

There is no such thing as a “balanced” book on this issue. The subject matter presents an insoluble, irremediable, incurable dilemma and any book content to the contrary is merely an exercise in wishful thinking.

Good choice. Anything by Ilan Pappe as well.

Read some Bernard Lewis. He has numerous books. His early books are the most balanced, but his views change some over the years due to things he witnessed happen.

start with the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and start working your way forward.

Years ago i read Righteous Victims by Benny Morris and thought it was a comprehensive and fair history of the conflict. Its likely out of date; example - Arafat was still alive at the time - but if you are looking for info on factual chronology rather than someone trying to make a case for one side or the other, its my go to.
