Any advice for better reading comprehension for audio books

Sometimes I find myself starting to wander off while listening to audio books and was wondering if anyone had some tips

It’s normal. Just jump back 2 minutes or so.

I have an audiobook in my ears most waking hours that I don't have to concentrate on something else or socialize. Often, I'll find myself listening for a good 15 mins and have no idea what's going on. Yeah, just back it up.
If I find I'm having a hard time concentrating, then I'll switch to something easy like true crime or Malcolm Gladwell and wait until I'm in a more focused mood for denser stuff.
I've tried to listen to Brothers Karamazov, War and Peace, Don Quixote some difficult non-fiction and gave up.

Try speeding up the speed a bit. It requires a little more concentration, which usually keeps me from getting bored/drifting off.
Bonus- if you continue to slowly increase the speed, then you can eventually listen at 2x speed. (for certain types of books)

Yeah, the only thing like that I've been able to pay attention to are a few theology books that I already knew what the author was going to say, and it was still tedious.
I did get into Steppenwolf, and the audiobook was a masterful translation (as far as I know--it sounded pretty anyway). Crime and Punishment was easy too.
Audiobooks have saved my reading life. I read all day for work and then read more researching various health and nutrition and TD. If I try to read before bed I am out in 3 pages.

I'm at 2x speed for everything. I'd fall asleep at a slower rate bc it doesn't happen fast enough. Way too many pauses and too slow.

I only listen in the car.
I’d fall asleep if I was not doing something requiring staying awake.

Are you a fast reader? I can read extremely fast and I think this is why I find my mind wandering when I try to listen to audio books. Almost puts me to sleep.
