My brother lives in MN, and I've spent a fair amount of time outdoors there. Boundary Waters are awesome.
Anyway, that's what turned me onto Allen Eskens. Good, dark but not too dark, suspense w literary style. I'm reading Nothing More Dangerous now, and the writing is terrific.
Just curious if he's just a pet favorite or others think he's a really solid author.

Both The Heavens May Fall and Deep Dark Descending are good. Deep Dark Descending is highly recommended.
