Anyone read a book early in life, whether voluntarily or by mandate, and have one opinion? Then re-read it later in life and understand things you completely missed but and/or are completely disgusted by it in a totally different way? And that kind of thing

How so? The point is to explain why you view it differently now that you’re “enlightened “
I just re-read “Deliverance”. What a stupid cliche fest story of overly English-major marinated geekery

When I was 19 I thought Leaves of Grass was nonsense and boring.
When I was 28 I thought I understood the entire flow of the work.
Not sure how I changed, but I caught up I suppose.

Catcher in the rye is pretty overrated. Franny and Zooey is a better book imo

Actually I can’t think of any. Books I disliked when younger, I never reread. Books I enjoyed when younger I either still like or never reread.
Now that I think about it, there aren’t many books I’ve read more than once.

Interesting. Do you rewatch your favorite movies?
I reread certain books annually. Because I can count on both hands how many truly great books I’ve ever read. Just like the same number of movies I’ve watched
