Texans Coach Bill O'Brien Begs Fans To Stop Bashing Him For Hopkins Trade
© Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports
Texans head coach Bill O'Brien is not a popular man in Houston after trading star WR DeAndre Hopkins. The fans will not stop bashing him and now he's begging them to stop...
quote:

"The best thing I can tell the fans is to please ... I think we have to let it all play out!" the Houston head coach said Thursday. "Let it play out. Let the whole thing play out!"

In exchange for not making fun of him he is willing to give up a 4th round pick

Begging? Title is clickbait as frick. I’ve questioned some of B.O.B’s decisions, but he’s still won the AFC South 4 out of the last 5 years. They beat KC, at KC, during the regular season and should’ve beat them again in the playoffs. They also beat New England. Hell, Tennessee almost went to the Super Bowl after making the playoffs solely because Houston already locked up their bid and sat most starters Week 16, allowing the Titans to get the wild card. Clowney’s talent doesn’t come close to his asking price, as we’re seeing today. Hopkins, as much as I love the guy, got greedy with 3 years left on his contract, knowing Houston still needed to pay their Pro Bowl left tackle and eventually Watson. Regarding Cooks, the previous two teams that traded for Cooks gave up a 1st round pick to get him, Houston gave up one of their two 2nd round picks. Again, I agree that O’Brien has made questionable decisions, but people that want him fired are uninformed.

The fans wanted O’Brien to be traded for a real coach. First he traded away arguably the best edge rusher in the NFL in Clowney and he now has traded away one of the Top 5 WR.

You're are giving Clowney way too much credit here. He's not nearly as good as you think he is.

I'll argue with you that Clowney isn't the best edge rusher in the league. He's not even top 5, but is commanding top dollar. He plays the run exceptionally well, though. The Hopkins trade is still kinda baffling to me.

Clowney wasn't even the best edge rusher on the team, much less a top 5 guy in the NFL. Whitney Mercilus > Clowney

As a Chiefs fan I'm a big fan of O'Brien.

And then trades for Brandin Cooks. And his contract. And his recurring concussions. Makes sense...

"And his contract." False. You can always tell the ones who rely on Twitter for knowledge.

"The Texans are on the hook for $8 million base salary in 2020 with no guaranteed money due" - So, if they keep him, they owe him 8 million. And they gave up a 2nd round draft pick- this year. So, go back to Twitter, douche...
