Scott Van Pelt Thinks Number Of Flags And Penalties This NFL Season Is ‘bullsh*t’

Like you, me and all NFL teams, ESPN's Scott Van Pelt thinks the refs are pulling the trigger on flags and penalties too many times this season...
quote:

“The problem is the amount of conversation about how games are adjudicated and the amount of times that you’re throwing flags … I think it’s bullsh*t,” Van Pelt said on SVPod. “I think the officiating, it’s inconsistent. The only consistent thing seems to be third-down flags. That just can’t be what they want.”

(Awful Announcing)

When you try to legislate out the one thing that makes the NFL great - violence - with subjective rules, this is what you get.

I don't see how guys still block in the back on punt returns. It's not that difficult to not do it.

far too many penalties called in NFL and college football, and also too many fouls in college basketball. Makes the games unwatchable.
