NFL: Pro Bowl To Feature Player Draft

By Larry LeoJul 31, 20133:02 pmDiscuss the story6
Adam Schefter tweeted out that the pro bowl format is going to change, according to NFL sources. Rather than the AFC facing off against the NFC, the NFL is apparently going to adopt the NHL all-star game format, and have a fantasy draft with two teams being selected among all the eligible players. The NFL released this statement announcing the change.

No none really cares much less the players. Have a selection for the Pro Bowl without a game.

Can't blame them for not wanting to get hurt in a game where the outcome is meaningless. The only thing that matters is making the roster (some player contracts have this as a bonus) but there's no point in actually playing it.

Back when player salaries weren't worth that much there wasn't nearly as much incentive to avoid injury.

Good move. They need to make this game so much more exciting

It's worth a shot.

Might be cool. IMO it will still be a joke of a game since no one wants to get hurt on a pointless game.

if this will make it more competitive and less of a joke then I'm all for the change. They should concentrate on maybe moving the game to other cities that might actually fill the stadium.
