NFL Heavily Considering Eliminating Preseason Games
Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports
I don't think there's one person on the planet, including players, coaches and fans, that enjoy NFL preseason games. There's nothing at stake other than losing players to injury. Well, the NFL might finally agree and is considering eliminating those games all together in favor of something else. Per ESPN's Seth Wickersham...

I'd be way down for this.

I don't understand how people associate preseason games with injuries... In the case of Benjamin Watson (Baltimore Ravens), he tripped over his own feet running a route and tore his Achilles (non-contact injury). If they're talking about doing scrimmages it still doesn't make sense because in reality a preseason game is nothing but a glorified scrimmage anyway... Injuries are just part of the game. Sad but true

injuries are part of the game. Less games - > Less injuries

They'll add a regular season game for every preseason game they eliminate. The tickets to preseason games cost as much as regular season games. Season ticket holders have to pay for them. The NFL isn't in the business of reducing the amount of revenue it brings in.

My family and I enjoy preseason games - we can watch them for a fraction of regular season ticket prices and still have a great time.

"I don't think there's one person on the planet, including players, coaches and fans, that enjoy NFL preseason games. " I beg the differ. This is the only shot many draft picks and UDFA get at making an NFL roster.
