At a CBS event former Bengals QB and CBS analyst Boomer Esiason gave his two cents about Broncos QB Tim Tebow....
quote:

“He can’t play. He can’t throw,”...“I’m not here to insult him. The reality is he was a great college football player, maybe the greatest college football player of his time. But he’s not an NFL quarterback right now. Just because he’s God-fearing, and a great person off the field, and was a winner with the team that had the best athletes in college football, doesn’t mean his game is going to translate to the NFL.”

“What (former Broncos coach) Josh McDaniel saw in him God only knows. Maybe God does know — because the rest of us don’t,”
Listen, we get it about Tebow. The guy is obviously the #3 QB in Denver and a work in progress, but I don't think he deserves this constant ripping from analysts. It's getting to be a bit much.

The guy can do one thing that even Boomer could never do, and Kyle Orton can't do it either....fill the stands, and this is business and entertainment where ticket sales count, and guess what he might be the only guy in pro football who fans care about regardless of these issues

ESPN's Merril Hoge is another one who feels his NFL voice matters.

Opinions are like butthol*s, everybody has one. Not sure why everyone feels the need to comment on Tebow. With Boomers great list of accomplishments I am sure he feels that his opinion matters,
with all the superbowls and playoff games he won and such, oh that's right, he didn't win any.

Nobody ripped Michael Vick like this coming out of Virginia Tech. Vick had issues throwing the football (but overcame that) and playing in cold weather (still does). Vick was constantly referred to as a "PROJECT IN PROGRESS.''If Tebow wasn't a Christian, he wouldn't get a single negative headline or comment. How many years did Vince Young and Jamarcus Russell get "groomed'' for the starting qb job? Matt Ryan didn't need groomed. Neither does Tebow.
