Ex-Employee Of Jaguars Owner Shad Khan Says He Plans On Moving Team To London
© Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
A former employee of Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan says he told him he plans to move the team to London. Per Yardbarker...
quote:

Former assistant director of football of Khan's Fulham Football Club Craig Kline alleges that Khan told him to keep quiet over his plans to buy Wembley Stadium and move the Jaguars to London in 2022 (via The Telegraph). Khan is on the verge of purchasing the iconic stadium for $792.5M, but the club denies any planned move.

“This is nothing more than the same ongoing nonsense and bogus claims made by a former employee who left the club in 2017. Nothing here merits a further response,” Khan spokesman Jim Woodcock said.

Meanwhile, a separate report from the Daily Mail suggests that Khan is exploring a scenario in which the Jaguars play their home games in London but remain based out of Jacksonville for tax purposes. The workaround, in theory, would allow Khan and his players to avoid pricey U..K taxes.
How does that make you feel?

I would think that the NFL would have to ok the move before he took the team out of the country.

Not surprising the owner, and the nfl have discussed the option from day 1. Whether or not it happens is a different story. The tax evasion piece would be interesting though. Dont nfl players pay different taxes per game depening on which state the game is in that particular week? So if a team travels to England would they pay taxes from there or florida cause corporate is there? Interesting convo nonetheless

He's going to have a rude awakening when he has trouble signing free agents. It's one thing to uproot a family for a job, but another to take it across the pond 3000 miles....
