Despite an objection by the state, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome has been named to the National Register of Historic Places. Apparently the State of Louisiana, which owns the stadium, isn’t too happy about this because it's worried the designation will hinder to future projects.

For those that don't know: If you get listed as NATIONALLY historic place, good luck getting it demolished.
