Urban Meyer Admits His Ohio State Team Is Not National Championship Quality?
© Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports
Urban Meyer is putting his foot on the breaks after his team's big win over Michigan this past weekend. He doesn't think his team is ready for a National Championship yet. Per USA Today...
quote:

“When you start using terms like national championship and playoffs, that’s very rare air,” Meyer said. “That’s why we have a job to do — get ready for practice and go win the Big Ten championship and worry about that down the road.”

[…]

“I don’t think we are yet,” he said, noting that there are areas of the game where his team national caliber and “certain areas we are not.”
Do you agree?

I probably wouldn't have said that out loud, just in case Georgia beats Bama and there's a serious debate about Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Bama for the 4th spot. I think he made that decision a little bit easier for the committee should that happen.

His team hung 62 points on Michigan last week Lets see what they do in the Big-10 Championship game. Another 62+ point game would make them look solid for the playoffs. Also, Meyer will never look past the game upcoming, so not many tea-leaves to read here

I think he knows he is gone after this season. Why take on the stress and anguish for a team/program that doesn't have your back. What it sounds like to me.

I think his plan is to wait and see what happens in the B1G championship. They win big and his story will be "Now we are National Championship Caliber"
