In last night's Chicago Bulls vs. Atlanta Hawks game 4, referee Bennett Salvatore admits to blowing a call that may have changed the outcome of the game. The ref blew an inadvertent whistle in the forth quarter during a play in which Derrick Rose pump-faked a three-point shot trying to draw contact from Jamal Crawford. Once the contact was made Salvatore blew his whistle, unintentionally. The outcome was not three shots for Rose, but a jump ball between Joakim Noah and Josh Smith which led to a run by the Hawks and a victory. Ref Salvatore said this after...

“I blew my whistle. I was positive it was not a foul,” the veteran ref told a pool reporter. “I blew my whistle by accident, which is an inadvertent whistle. That’s why I disallowed it.
“Having watched the replay, it was a foul. I made a mistake. I was wrong.”
Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was fair about it...

Bennett’s a good official. He said he made a mistake. That’s what he did. He’s human”
The series goes back to Chicago tied 2-2.
