Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer won the bid to buy the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, but according to ESPN on Friday, Donald Sterrling is not going out without a fight.

The banned Los Angeles Clippers owner is filing a $1 billion lawsuit against the NBA, his lawyer confirmed to's Ramona Shelburne on Friday, one day after his wife, Shelly, accepted a $2 billion bid from former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer to buy the team.

"The [termination] charges in the lawsuit are an invasion of his constitutional rights, violation of anti-trust laws, breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract," attorney Max Blecher told Shelburne.

Donald Sterling repeatedly has vowed to fight the NBA's attempts to force him to sell the team. That fight was temporarily derailed this week after sources say he was found by experts to be mentally incapacitated, paving the way for Shelly to become the sole trustee of the family trust and empowering her to work on an agreement to sell the team to Ballmer.

he should just take his 2B and fade on. Whether the NBA is right or wrong is irrelevant, he is getting paid way above value.

It's not about the money with these guys....He's got plenty. It's all ego and the fact that he is being told/forced to do something he does not want to do. Personally I hope he gets the billion. Illegally recorded, no substantiated evidence of lower pay for non-whites, and apparently he has a touch of the Alzheimers. It's not illegal to be an ignorant bigot....It's only illegal if you act on it. It's not like he killed a fellow team mate while driving drunk or punched his wife in the face at a casino in AC....
