Former LSU star and current Houston Astros third-baseman Alex Bregman was announced as one of the participants in this year's MLB Home Run Derby on Wednesday night.

Bregman was already named to the American League All-Star Gamer roster earlier this week.

The Derby will take place at Nationals Park, Washington, D.C. on Monday, July 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.

This years event will be single elimination, with Bregman competing against Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber in the first round.

The rest of the field includes Milwaukee's Jesus Aguilar, Philadelphia's Rhys Hoskins, Washington's Bryce Harper, Atlanta's Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers' Max Muncy, and Chicago Cubs' Javier Baez.
