ESPN's Chris Fowler joined First Take on Wednesday and offered his perspective on Lane Kiffin's decision to leave Ole Miss for LSU and the expectations surrounding his first season in Baton Rouge.

Fowler said Kiffin made the move because he believed LSU gave him a better opportunity to accomplish his ultimate goal: winning a national championship.

"He went there [LSU] to win a championship. That's why he was hired. He didn't feel he had as good a chance at Ole Miss," Fowler said. "That was front and center in his decision."

Fowler added that LSU's significant investment in its roster brings plenty of pressure and expectations. While he isn't predicting a national championship in Kiffin's first season, he believes LSU fans are expecting to at least make the 12-team playoff.

Not one comment about “former NFL players” or “class of 2022 recruits”.

They’ve been told to tone it down.
