With LSU having more than 40+ players in the NFL, it's hard to choose the current top five in the league.

The NFL.com gave it a shot and came up with this top five list:

5. OT Andrew Whitworth - Drafted 55th overall in 2006
4. WR Jarvis Landry - Drafted 63rd overall in 2014
3. S Tyrann Mathieu - Drafted 69th overall in 2013
2. WR Odell Beckham Jr. - Drafted 12th overall in 2014
1. CB Patrick Peterson - Drafted 5th overall in 2011

Off the top of my head, I missed it by 1, I thought Kyle Williams and it was Andrew Whitworth

My opinion of 2016 1. Whitworth 2. Odell 3. Peterson 4. Williams 5. Turner straight murdered it this year! 6. Kwon Alexander 7. Landry 8. Jones 9. Hunter looked great in situations, see if it's real next year. 10. Ware but it's more likely Andy reid. 11. Riley 12. hill much higher if he got his stuff to gather and wasn't hurt.

Mathieu is my favorite player of all time but I don't think he is back yet. And if he is going I think he is number 1. But I didn't see him killing it last year

Mathieu has had two major knee surgeries the last two years. Honestly I don't see him having a long career unfortunately

Hard to argue with that list. The Saints could have had Matthieu, Landry and maybe Whitworth. Beckham and Peterson were out of reach. But Sean and Mickey would rather draft project players. Laughable!

Have to agree. Saints/Sean have a horrible track record when it comes to LSU players, certainly would have been a great get with Mattieu

The only reason Mathieu went so high was because PP7 had sway in the Cards FO. He promised them he'd keep TM7 under control and implored them to draft the kid. I mean, TM7 got one of the worst 3rd round contracts ever. TM7 in NOLA sans Peterson is a potential disaster waiting to happen. Now when Landry was still there and we picked SJB who made it one year in the NFL as a 2nd round pick, that's the one that absolutely kills me.

Kyle Williams ???? How does a 5x Pro Bowler not make the list??? He was in the pro bowl last year, I think we forget about him because he is in buffalo excel... without a doubt he should be in the top 5

Jones has made a bigger impact already???? That's just asinine. Whitworth is a three-time Pro-Bowler and two-time All-Pro. He is going into his 12th year in the league. Those aren't Hall of Fame numbers, but they do probably put him among the top 20% of lineman to ever play in the league. I hope Debo does have a better a career than Whit, because if he does he might end up in the HoF.
