When would he have had time to cut grass etc etc being a football player? It’s nearly year round.

I started cutting grass for money when I was 10 years old. After a few years I’d saved enough for a cow and a calf who went on to have more calves every year, which gave me more spending money. I started bagging groceries at 12. At 16 I started working offshore during summers and Christmas breaks, for the big money!

I worked throughout most of high school part time doing different things. I rarely had to ask my folks for any spending money. I was a slow white guy who realized LSU wasn’t gonna come calling…haha. But eventually paid my way thru college. It’s your mindset kids…change your mind, change your life.

What does your story have to do with him being thankful hes getting paid to play football?

@Flashback, well, him saying his folks don't have to pay for his phone etc. is what got me to thinking. Also I had just read about the ex NBA employee bitching about his cushy job posting on social media...hence, here's what the real world looks like if you wanna have a chance at any kind of success kids.

I hope he stays healthy and has a great year! He can help lead us to a terrific year and have a significant NFL contract waiting for him. Best of luck to him and his family.

It’s great to see players being gracious and appreciative like Mason. You can clearly see a mature young man here… wishing him the best this season! Hope he gets to prove himself this year! Geaux Tigers!!!

Victory Tiger, ask yourself why you stereotyped this player with your assumption that he would blame another demographic group of people, when he is no longer making money from football? Do you know him and his academic potential? Is he capable of becoming a brain surgeon? Do you realize your statement wreaks of bigotry and discrimination, which is why some players like him leave the state to play sports and have a better life, while not having to deal with ignorant biased indoctrinated people like you?
His parents ancestors played a bigger role than plantation owners with your mentality, in building America into what it is today and have little to show for it. No one is asking you to feel guilty about that, but just educated in that area of his history. He is working for what he gets and his soul and dignity, as well as his parents’, are no less valuable than yours. Only an inferior being would make the statement you made, while trying to exude what you think is your superiority. The value of one’s soul has nothing to do with demographics, nor any other classification of human beings.
