ESPN college football analyst Greg McElroy joined Get Up on Tuesday morning and broke down Saturday night's season opener between LSU and Clemson in Tiger Stadium.

The highly anticipated matchup will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, with ESPN's College GameDay also making the trip to Baton Rouge.

Here's what McElroy had to say about the matchup:

McElroy also reacted to Lane Kiffin's Monday comments about ex-NFL players potentially returning to college.

Ask them about transfers taking their spot. Ask them about freshmen taking their spot. Ask them about someone who worked harder taking their spot. Ask them about getting injured and losing their spot. I don’t like players coming back (just my opinion) but in sports people lose “their spot” all the time. And it’s not their spot, it’s the team’s spot and it’s usually decided by the coaches who has it at any given time.
