What a lame, evasive self-assessment. How can Etling possibly take a "step back"? He has not thrown or rushed for 1 TD vs ALA in 2 years, 1st QB to ever. The only teams to beat ALA in 6 years had DTQBs, TEMPO, RPO modern Offenses. Saban saw that in 2013, processed it, and changed. LSU cannot even acknowledge what Offense it takes to win. Hurts should have gone ahead and scored from the 7 with a minute left to help tamp down the delusional "status quo" rant.

He took no responsibility for not making those throws to open receivers that would have won the game. I’d like to see a guy who is disappointed enough to know that we were a decent throwing qb away from winning in Tuscaloosa, and desperately wants to work hard to get better.

As much as I appreciate the coach speak at the beginning of the year he has not progressed at all. Not even a little. Sorry great man and a winner but just the reason we are 9-4 or hopefully 10-3 season .

Just need a QB who takes an open lane and runs when no receiver is open. Can't hesitate and run into the sack like Etling tends to do. I'm hopeful Brennan is much more accurate and doesn't even have to run to be the gumps. Sick of losing to those half wits, and exiled Louisiana traitors.

What a well spoken and just plain awesome young man. Proud to have Etling representing our side.

The only way we’ll be able to compete with Bama is if we have a mobile QB, and neither Etling nor Brennan fit that description.

Peyton Manning couldn’t even beat Nebraska in his final game. Lost 42-17

Funny thing is y’all think Watson with Clemson was a spread QB. He wasn’t. You can beat Bama with a pocket QB that can move in the pocket and run when it’s open to run. Idiots in here are gonna be idiots.
